A walk around London, followed by Afternoon Tea

Today we met with a guide named Angie who showed us around London! I'm too lazy to write too much but I have lots of pictures! First, we walked through Hyde Park to see Buckingham Palace. The last picture is of the Blues and Royals of the British Army.

I think this is where Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry and Camilla sometimes (but rarely) stay. There are two soldiers guarding it. As our guide explained, there is now a chain to prevent tourists from coming up to these soldiers because some tourists took advantage of the fact that at times, these soldiers are not allowed to move, and bothered them.

Some Navy secrets are guarded inside this building.

We hopped on a bus to see Westminster Abbey, a medieval church. I thought the architecture here was incredible! Portions of the church were built and rebuilt at different times so the architectural styles throughout the church were very different.

Across the street was the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

After lunch, we saw St. Paul's Cathedral and the Globe theatre. Apparently I had walked right by it on the way to the Tate the previous day but somehow didn't realize that it was the Globe!

After being outside in the cold for so long, I could not wait for Afternoon Tea (I don't know why I keep capitalizing that), which was the best part of the day for me. We went to a place in Kensington Garden. On our way to tea, we passed Kensington Palace, a residence of the Royal Family. First, they served tea, which I had with milk for the first time (it was delicious). Along with the tea came a cucumber sandwich, followed by a scone and some cake! So, afternoon tea definitely turned into my dinner!
