There is no shortage of markets in London!
On Saturday, we (by "we," you know who I mean at this point) went to Portobello Market in Notting Hill. This is a huge market that opens every Saturday. They sell everything from antiques to food to clothes. I bought two scarves -- a yellow/orange one and a green one. I'll have to come back for some more shopping there next week! The area around there was great! There were stretches of buildings whose facades were all painted in different colors -- very pretty!

Sam and Brittany enjoyed their cupcakes!
We saw these guys on our way out.
After the market, we went to Harrods, which is an absolutely ridiculous department store selling pianos, toys, chocolate, food, clothes, housewares, pianos and pretty much anything you can think of. And if you really want, you can get the full Harrods experience and buy a sandwich for 16 pounds (about 24 dollars) while you're there.

This guy made snow from this powder and water in 3 seconds. Pretty impressive.

This snooker table was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1887 and cost 1,000,000 pounds (1.5 million dollars with a good exchange rate)
And here's one more bizarre thing that happened a couple of days ago. I was on the escalator in a Tube station and a voice said "All lines are running smoothly except for some line (don't remember which one) because there is a person underneath the train." In this very busy train station, no one even looked up so I figured that I just misheard whatever they said. Later that day, Sam said that he also independently heard this announcement and was equally as confused by the lack of reaction from the people around him. Now that I've written that out I realize that it was a pretty unnecessary update to my blog. Oh well.
